Frequently asked questions
What is Brilliant Talent?
Brilliant Talent is the talent placement service of Brilliant Workplaces. It places leadership, marketing, sales, event management, project management, and customer experience professionals in contract, fractional, and full-time roles, matched for both the skills the role needs and the culture of the team they join.
What is the difference between contract, fractional, and direct hire?
A contract hire works on your team through Brilliant Workplaces, as a W-2 employee or a 1099 contractor depending on the scope, so the payroll and paperwork stay off your plate. A fractional executive is a senior leader for a defined stretch, with the option to convert to permanent. A direct hire is a permanent employee on your own payroll.
How does Brilliant Talent match candidates for culture fit?
Every search starts with how your team works: the pace, the people, and what a good first 90 days looks like. Each candidate on the short list is matched on the skills the role needs and the culture they'll be joining, with a note on why they fit.
Are contractors W-2 or 1099?
Both, depending on the scope of the role. A contractor is placed either as a W-2 employee of Brilliant Workplaces or as a 1099 independent contractor, and works under your direction. Either way, Brilliant Workplaces handles the contract and you get one invoice a month.
What if the person isn't a fit?
Flag it early. In the first 90 days, Brilliant Workplaces replaces them at no extra fee.
Can a contractor convert to full-time?
Yes. Conversion terms are agreed before they start, so nobody is surprised later.
